American Airlines Adds Seasonal Nonstop Service between Charlotte and Silicon Valley’s Airport

American Airlines is expanding destination options during the peak summer travel season with the addition of daily nonstop service between Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) and Charlotte-Douglas International Airport. The flight will operate between June 2, 2016 and August 15, 2016, and will offer convenient connections to the Caribbean, Florida, Raleigh-Durham and Savannah.

“We are pleased to see American Airlines offer more flight choices for Silicon Valley travelers during the peak travel season ahead,” said Director of Aviation Kim Becker. “American has strong support from business travelers in the South Bay Area. We anticipate the airline will see the same level of support from leisure travelers this summer wanting nonstop service to Charlotte, and easy one-stops to top tourist destinations in the Caribbean, Florida, Raleigh-Durham, and Savannah.

Beyond Charlotte, travelers have easy connections to the following destinations:

  • The Caribbean: Aruba, Grand Cayman, Montego Bay, Nassau, Providenciales, Puerto Plata, Punta Cana, San Juan and St. Thomas;
  • Florida beach cities of Fort Lauderdale, Orlando and Tampa; and
  • The beautiful and historic cities of Raleigh-Durham and Savannah
American will fly modern Airbus A319 aircraft on the route. Tickets are available for purchase at for this new service which will operate as follows:
