Broadway San Jose Concludes Most Successful Season to Date

Broadway San Jose, a Nederlander Presentation, concluded its 2013-14 season with back-to-back, record-breaking engagements of JERSEY BOYS and WICKED,  making the fifth Broadway touring season San Jose’s most successful to date.  In preparation for the dual blockbuster summer, the San Jose Center for the Performing Arts (SJCPA) underwent a series of renovations including a vastly improved loading dock; completely refurbished dressing rooms; front of house painting; the addition of 17 points of service throughout the common area; and activation and renovation of the outdoor plaza, including the addition of 24 women's restrooms at ground level.  The SJCPA is operated by Team San Jose.

"Despite record-setting crowds at every performance, the building performed like a champion," said Broadway San Jose General Manager Nanci Williams.

Broadway San Jose’s 2014–15 season kicks-off in November with CIRQUE DREAMS HOLIDAZE, a spectacular family show to be held over Thanksgiving week (November 25 – 30, 2014).  In 2015, Broadway San Jose will present the Bay Area premiere of the new Tony Award-winning revival of Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA (March 3 – 8, 2015) followed by the 2012 Tony Award winning Best Musical, ONCE (April 21 – 26, 2015).  In June 2015, Broadway San Jose will present the mind-blowing Broadway-bound THE ILLUSIONISTS, a showcase of some of the world's most astonishing acts that has toured the world and dazzled audiences of all ages (June 9-14, 2015).  The 2014-15 season culminates with the South Bay premiere of the nine-time Tony Award-winning musical, THE BOOK OF MORMON, playing a limited two-week engagement (July 1-15, 2015).  Season extra shows include JERRY SEINFELD LIVE, coming to San Jose for one night only on October 16, 2014 and a one-weekend return engagement of RAIN: A TRIBUTE TO THE BEATLES (March 27-29, 2015).

All Broadway San Jose performances are held at the 2,700-seat San Jose Center for Performing Arts, a mid-century modern architectural showcase designed by the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation, at the corner of Park Avenue and Almaden Boulevard in downtown San Jose.
