Parks

With 150 parks, San Jose offers everything from places for quiet contemplation and picnics to raucous play and family barbecues. Each weekend, many San Joseans make a short pilgrimage to Kelley Park, a beautiful and diverse urban Mecca. Here you can find the Japanese Friendship Garden, History San Jose and Happy Hollow Park and Zoo (scheduled to reopen in 2010 with new rides, shops, a restaurant and zoo exhibits). Almaden Lake Park is the South Bay's only beachfront swim area, offering wind surfing, paddle boating, picnicking, bocce, and volleyball, with hiking at the nearby Guadalupe Park Trail. Coyote Creek Trail’s 18 miles of attractive land begs for jogging and biking.
