PBS Heirloom Meals, Screening and Tamale Breakfast - VivaFest

Start off the day with a Mexican tamale breakfast. Meet Carole Murko of Heirloom Meals who will show her culinary journey of meeting a variety of people across the country, including San Jose's own Darlene Tenes of CasaQ. Darlene will share her tamale recipe, and others will share their own treasured family recipe, exploring the community's diverse culinary history and preserving their ancestors' tried and true recipes and dining traditions. Heirloom Meals' mission is to preserve the rich and diverse cultural food histories that make up the melting pot of the United States while paying tribute to the dying art of cooking from scratch.
