In this workshop you will create a journal that is extremely versatile in its design and use. Paint heavyweight paper, and then learn how to use the paper to cover book boards to create the front and back cover of the journal. You will begin the class creating several sheets of painted paper. The painting techniques will include: stamping, stenciling, and print-making processes. To bind the book you will be setting grommets and using binder rings. Using binder rings allows you to be able to add pages to your journal at any time. The pages can be made from a large variety of materials, such as paper, fabric, cardboard, envelopes, folders, packing materials and more. Anything you can drill a hole in, you can make into a page.
These journals are great for note-taking, painting, drawing, collage, holding art materials, creating pockets, accordion folds, journaling, and more. You can choose the size of journal you want to make and will finish the body of the journal and several pages in class.
