Shall We Dance (1937) & The Sky's the Limit (1943)

This double-feature is part of Stanford Theatre's Summer Festival in downtown Palo Alto. An organist performs between most showings in this classic movie palace. Both of tonight's films star Fred Astaire

In Shall We Dance, a budding romance between a ballet master (Astaire) and a tapdancer (Ginger Rogers) becomes complicated when rumours surface that they're already married.

In The Sky's the Limit, Flying Tiger Fred Atwell (Astaire) sneaks away from his famous squadron's personal appearance tour and goes incognito for several days of leave. He quickly falls for photographer Joan Manion (Joan Leslie), pursuing her in the guise of a carefree drifter.
