Werther - Opera Lecture Series

This lecture on the opera by Jules Massenet will be given by Steven Huebner a James McGill Professor of Musicology at McGill University in Montreal, Quebec/ He is the author of two books: The Operas of Charles Gounod (Clarendon Press, 1990) and French Opera at the Fin de Siecle: Wagnerism, Nationalism and Style (Oxford, 1999). He is a major contributor to journals, co-editor of the Cambridge Opera Journal, and has written entries for The New Grove Dictionary of Opera and The New Grove Dictionary of Music, as well as contributing essays to program books for opera houses around the world.
