The Postman Always Rings Twice
The Stage proudly presents the World Premiere of a new adaptation of James M. Cain's notorious 1934 novel. Short but jam-packed with thrills, sex and violence, the novel was banned in Boston during its time, but that didn't stop it from spreading to international acclaim, inspiring numerous interpretations through film, radio, and even opera. Frank, a drifter, stops at a California diner for a meal and stays for a job when sparks fly with the proprietor's beautiful young wife. Fed up of working in a diner she wants to own and sick of her loveless marriage, Cora feels a magnetic attraction to Frank. Their steamy affair takes a grisly turn.
