Sound System/Audio-Visual Services
The San Jose Convention & Cultural Facilities Technical Services Office provides limited audio-visual support service. A rate schedule is available from an Event Coordinator. Some audio-visual equipment will have limited inventory.
When event audio-visual requirements are provided by the in-house Technical Services Office, San Jose Convention & Cultural Facilities will provide an overhead sound system with one unattended lectern microphone at no charge in the meeting rooms and exhibit halls. The standard meeting room and exhibit hall sound systems are suitable for speech only. Our Technical Services Office can provide audio-visual sources for entertainment events upon request.
Set-ups requiring in excess of two audio inputs or more complex set-ups involving mixing, microphones on cue, wireless microphones, tape recorders, etc. require a sound technician. The cost of sound technicians will be an additional charge to you. Upon request, a Event Coordinator can provide cost estimates for your event.
When an outside contractor, other than the in-house Technical Service Office, provides the audio-visual requirements for an event, all audio-visual equipment must be provided by the contractor. Audio-visual contractors may request to utilize the overhead sound systems in the meeting rooms only. Sound levels for these overhead speakers will be set by in-house technicians. Dedicated sound technicians may be required to attend the in-house system when more than two audio inputs are being utilized during the meeting. The cost of these sound technicians and the utilization of the overhead speakers will be an additional charge to show management.
