They Don’t Build ‘Em Like This Anymore…and That’s a Shame

Perhaps it’s the marble entry way with its restored façade leading up to a brilliantly colored ceiling, or maybe it’s the classic organs with their pipes billowing out thunderous tunes,  but the California Theater in San Jose is one of those rare buildings in America where you step inside and feel magic.

Home of the theatre in San Jose

If your meeting calls for a show or presentation that needs to surpass expectations, and you don’t want to hassle with transportation, the Center for the Performing Arts is just the ticket. Just a couple of blocks from the San Jose Convention Center, the CPA is home to Broadway San Jose and Ballet San Jose.  It offers continental-style auditorium seating  (no center aisle) with seating for up to 2,665.

The Center of It All

Flexibility makes the Convention Center perfect for a variety of meeting types. For smaller events, the Center can be sectioned off to fit without limiting features. For extra-large events or those requiring specialized facilities like a theater stage, the Convention Center is networked with nearby venues to help that event expand seamlessly into whatever environment your gathering requires.

Full Production Facilities next to the San Jose Civic

Looking for a more intimate venue with all the production capabilities of a major performance venue? Then Montgomery Theater is for you. When not in use as the permanent home of the San Jose Children’s Musical Theater, the Montgomery Theater hosts a variety of cultural and performing arts events. Located across the street from the convention center in the same building as the San Jose Civic, the Montgomery lives a double life as a convenient, elegant space for meetings and conventions, with seating capacity for up to 464 as well as 5 wheelchair seats.

Flexible Space Next to the Tech Museum of Innovation

Parkside Hall, located next to the famous Tech Museum of Innovation, is the perfect venue for consumer shows, conventions, tradeshows and corporate events. Less than a 5-minute walk from the San Jose Convention Center, Parkside Hall is ideal for an additional 30,000 square feet of unobstructed exhibit and general assembly space.  With 24-foot open ceilings and carpeted floors, Parkside Hall  can accommodate banquets of up to 1,800 people.

Rock Your Meeting with Customized Concerts

Want your next event to rock? What better place than a place where major music legends rocked the house?  Since opening in 1936, the San Jose Civic has hosted artists such as Duke Ellington, Buddy Holly, The Grateful Dead, The Who, Bob Dylan, the Beach Boys, Barbra Streisand, Cream and The Rolling Stones. Recent luminaries include Crosby, Stills & Nash, Steely Dan, Michael McDonald, Beck, Interpol, Switchfoot, Reliant K, My Chemical Romance, the Pixies and even Snoop Dog have headlined the Civic's stage.

For Groups That Need a Little Room to Grow

Whether you’re looking to add a custom designed exhibit to your conference, expanding your convention experience or looking to produce a more prominent display the South Hall is for you. Affectionately referred to as Big Blue, this versatile $6.7 million venue, next door to the convention center, offers its guests the ability to paint their exhibit on a blank canvas of opportunity. With 80,000 square feet of column free exhibit space, South Hall is the perfect choice for shows that need a little room or to grow beyond the scope of the San Jose Convention Center. As needed, the venue expands the convention center’s San Jose's meeting and exhibit space from 143,000 to 223,000 square feet, opening the door to accommodating larger conventions or several meetings simultaneously.
