THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: SYMPHONY OF THE GODDESSES” TOUR PLANNED FOR THE SAN JOSE CIVIC ON DECEMBER 14, 2012!
New December Date Will Give Concert Goers an Extraordinary Holiday Experience
Based on one of the most popular and beloved games of all time, “The Legend of Zelda™: Symphony of the Goddesses” tour is a spectacular concert that features live orchestral performances of theme music from Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda franchise. After receiving tremendous enthusiasm and feedback for the performance at Davies Symphony Hall in San Francisco in March 2012, the concert is returning to the Bay Area and coming to San Jose, CA at the San Jose Civic. The concert was originally scheduled for September 7, but will be performed instead on Friday, December 14, 2012 to capture the enthusiasm of the holidays. All tickets from the originally scheduled show on September 7th will be honored on the new date.
The new four-movement symphony recounts the classic storylines from The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time™, The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker™, The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess™, and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past™. The concert also will highlight orchestral renditions of music from other series games, including The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening™ and The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask™. Eímear Noone will conduct the full orchestra with arrangements by music director Chad Seiter.
“With a great mix of culture and technology, the Bay Area is a haven for both music fans and gaming enthusiasts. It’s an area that also comes alive during the holiday season,” notes Jason Michael Paul, CEO of Jason Michael Paul Productions, which is producing the concert tour. “As we have moved our San Jose performance from September to December, we can give the good people of San Jose a unique and unforgettable concert experience during the holidays,” adds Paul.
“The love that fans feel for The Legend of Zelda series cannot be overstated,” said Scott Moffitt, Nintendo of America’s executive vice president of Sales & Marketing. “In 2012, we want to give people across the country a chance to come together and enjoy the music from the games that mean so much to so many.”
Since first appearing in 1986, The Legend of Zelda game series has sold more than 65 million units worldwide. The most recent entry in the series is The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, which launched exclusively for the Wii™ console in November 2011.
