NEW CONCERTS AND EVENTS ANNOUNCED AT THE SAN JOSE CIVIC
Hot off the heels of Snow Patrol's new album, Fallen Empires, the band will make their ONLY Bay Area appearance at the newly renovated San Jose Civic on October 21st.
The Irish/Scottish five piece have sold over 11 million albums and have been responsible for several era-defining singles, including Run, Chocolate, and Chasing Cars (which spent an incredible 104 weeks in the UK Top 75 and was voted song of the decade in a Channel 4 poll). Their albums have been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize, Grammys and MTV Europe Music Awards, with Final Straw landing them an Ivor Novello Award in 2005. By anyone’s standards, it's been a pretty good century so far.
Over several months, the five piece - singer Gary Lightbody, guitarist Nathan Connolly, bassist Paul Wilson, drummer Jonny Quinn and keyboardist, Tom Simpson - began a musical road trip around California. Along the way, R.E.M.'s Michael Stipe, US singer Lissie and Queens Of The Stone Age guitarist, Troy Van Leeuwen all popped by to lend a guitar part here, a lyric idea there. Meanwhile, Snow Patrol's new adventures seeped into every note on 'Fallen Empires'. The result is an album that promises to redefine the band as an altogether more ambitious, more expansive, creative force.
The overall results are an album that should mark Snow Patrol as a band big on experimental ideas as well as stadium sized anthems. Fallen Empires feels like a suitably weighty follow-up to the platinum success of 2008’s A Hundred Millions Suns and the million-selling 2009 collection Up To Now - it is simply their best record to date.

THE OFFSPRING
Plus special guests
NEON TREES / DEAD SARA
The Offspring will make their San Jose Civic debut on October 2nd in support of their ninth studio album, DAYS GO BY. Neon Trees and Dead Sara will open the show.
The Huntington Beach, CA quartet–Dexter Holland (vocals, guitar), Noodles (guitar), Greg Kriesel (bass) and Pete Parada (drums)—once again break all the rules in true punk fashion on their ninth album. The title track and first single “Days Go By” glides on an irresistible riff and arena-sized hook. Meanwhile, “OC Guns” swings from swaggering SoCal reggae into a mariachi breakdown and “Cruising California (Bumpin’ in My Trunk)” jokingly recounts an afternoon rolling around the beach with nothing but time to kill and scantily girls to flirt with. It’s unique, unpredictable and undeniably THE OFFSPRING.
THE OFFSPRING’S last album, 2008's Rise And Fall, Rage And Grace, featured the alternative and rock radio staples “Hammerhead” and “You're Gonna Go Far, Kid.” Also among the band's best-known hits are the rock anthems “Self Esteem,” “Come Out And Play (Keep ‘Em Separated)” and “The Kids Aren't Alright." The band has performed over 1100 shows across the globe, sold more than 36 million albums worldwide and there 1994 release Smash remains the highest-selling album of all-time on an independent label.
Multi-platinum Mercury Records group Neon Trees, whose Top 15 Alternative single “Everybody Talks” is driving TV spots nationwide for the new Buick Verano, wrapped up shows at the SXSW (South By Southwest) Music Conference and are currently on the road supporting their second album release, PICTURE SHOW, which arrived in stores on April 17th ! PICTURE SHOW follows up Neon Trees’ #1 debut album of 2010, HABITS, containing the RIAA double-platinum #1 debut single “Animal.” "Everybody Talks" just passed the 1 million sales mark making it the bands second platinum selling single.
Music history is rich with rock bands fronted by dynamic duos. Looking to carry on this yin and yang tradition are singer Emily Armstrong and female guitarist Siouxsie Medley, who front Los Angeles’ Dead Sara — an electrifying four-piece rock band whose supercharged music is propelled by Medley’s exhilarating, monster guitar riffs and Armstrong’s powerful, wailing vocals. Dead Sara also includes bassist Chris Null and drummer Sean Friday, who funnel the ferocious spectacle of the band’s high-energy live performance into their self-titled debut album. The debut will be released on the band’s own label, Pocket Kid Records through Fontana Universal.
