Built in 1936, the Montgomery Theater retains its original charm, while renovations and upgrades over the years have resulted in a modern performance venue. Featuring full production capabilities, it offers a variety of theater, musical and cultural entertainment throughout the year. It can accomodate up to 536 patrons and includes areas set aside for wheelchair seating.
Located across the street from the Convention Center in the same building as the Civic Auditorium, the Montgomery Theater receives some use as a convention facility. In addition, it is the primary performance venue of both San Jose Children's Musical Theater and Lyric Theatre of San Jose.

Nearby pay parking lots include a surface lot on the northeast corner of Market and San Carlos, a lot under the Convention Center (just across San Carlos, entrance on Almaden Boulevard), and a lot under Scott's Restaurant (entrance on Park, between Almaden and Market). |
