Position Summary
The Banquet Captain oversees set-up and clean-up of food preparation for all banquet functions. This is an on-call union position, and all individuals in this role are represented by UNITE HERE! Local 19.
Position Responsibilities
- Supervise Food and Beverage service to ensure consistency throughout the banquet. Assist with the planning, organizing and execution of all banquet functions. Greet clients in charge and respond to requests.
- Supervise banquet rooms set-up and clean-up.
- Speak at roll call meetings prior to events to inform staff about event particulars and expectations.
- Prepare consumption sheets and finalize numbers for event authorized drink orders.
- Authorized employees drive company vehicle for business purposes.

- Supervise general cleaning tasks using standard products as assigned to adhere to health standards.
- Check with Facilities, Catering and Culinary for any last minute changes.
- Supervise all assigned side work which includes replenishing condiments and restocking banquet cabinet supplies
- Perform other related duties as required.
Position Requirements
- Able to speak, read and write in the English language effectively.
- Two (2) years’ experience as a Banquet Captain in large venues.
- Scheduling flexibility is essential, willing to work evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Must have a California Food Handler Card and RBS Certification.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards.
- Comply with company & departmental procedures, expectations, goals and standards.
- Consistently provide friendly and pleasant customer service by being courteous, professional, and maintaining a positive attitude.
- Abide by all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages.
Salary: $17.20
