San Jose McEnery Convention Center & San Jose Theaters Join GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation Program

Completion of 20 performance-based measures will ensure all Team San Jose managed venues are operating at industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection

(San Jose, CA) – Team San Jose, the parent organization overseeing the San Jose McEnery Convention Center, the collection of San Jose Theaters and Visit San Jose, in collaboration with the Global Biorisk Advisory Council (GBAC), a Division of ISSA, announces their active commitment to the GBAC STAR™ facility accreditation program. The San Jose McEnery Convention Center will be the first convention center in Silicon Valley and the Bay Area to commit to the GBAC STAR program.

GBAC STAR is the industry’s only outbreak prevention, response and recovery accreditation. GBAC STAR establishes protocols and procedures, offers expertled training and assesses a facility’s preparedness for biorisk situations. Once Team San Jose’s venues are fully accredited in the 20 GBAC STAR Program Elements performance-based accreditation, the San Jose McEnery Convention Center and the San Jose Theaters staff will be implementing the industry’s highest standards for cleaning and disinfection of infectious agents.
