General Information
Is there a Lost & Found?
If you left a personal belonging behind, call 408-277-3500 with a description of the item, the theater you visited and the date.
What Accessibility Information can you provide?
Contact our Box Office at least two weeks in advance. Call 408-792-4111 (Tue - Sat, 12PM – 5PM) or email tickets@sanjose.org for:
- ADA and companion seating
- ASL interpretation, open captioning, or audio description
- Accommodations for medical needs
Assistive Listening Devices (ALDs) are available at every performance — ask an usher at entry. A photo ID is held until the device is returned.
Are Service Animals allowed?
San Jose Theaters welcomes animals who are part of a scheduled event like a dog show or circus as well as service animals as defined by the ADA: dogs trained to perform a task directly related to a disability. Emotional support animals do not qualify, and service animals must stay under their handler's control at all times.
Are booster seats available?
Yes, free booster seats are available at every venue for patrons under 5 feet tall and up to 50 lbs. Ask an usher at least 10 minutes before the event starts.

Where is the Box Office, and how do I contact them?
A central Box Office, operated by TSJ Ticketing (a division of Team San Jose), handles advance ticketing for all four theaters.

- The Box Office is typically open for San Jose Civic events 2 hours prior to and 30 minutes after the start of performances
- 5-minute loading zone available out front during business hours
- Accepted payment: cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express

How do Will Call tickets work?
If you're seeing a show at the Center for the Performing Arts, California Theatre, or Montgomery Theater, Will Call tickets are held at the venue box office the day of the show.
- The Will Call area is typically open for 2 hours prior to and 30 minutes after the start of performances. Please call in advance to confirm times.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID
- Check your delivery method. Mobile tickets scan from your phone, electronic/TicketFast tickets must be printed at home

Who do I contact for any ticketing issues?

Third-Party Ticket Purchase Disclaimer
Tickets purchased from any source other than the event’s official ticketing partner are bought at your own risk. We cannot verify the authenticity, validity, or price of tickets obtained through unauthorized sellers, and such tickets may be invalid, counterfeit, or canceled without notice. Entry to the event is not guaranteed for tickets purchased from third parties.
Can I purchase Broadway San Jose tickets at the Center for Performing Arts (CPA) box office?
CPA ticket windows open 2 hours before showtime, but advance Broadway San Jose tickets are sold through the Box Office at San Jose Civic.
Do you offer gift certificates?
No. For a gift certificate to a specific performing organization, contact them directly.
Can you donate tickets to our event or fundraiser?
We don't have access to our clients' tickets, so we are unable to provide them for giveaways or donations. Contact the show's producer or promoter directly.
What are the policies for children's tickets?
Children ages 2+ need a ticket. For family shows, tickets are required for children ages 1+. Policies can vary by show. Be sure to check the event page to confirm.
Prohibited Items & Security
What items are prohibited?
The following are prohibited in our theaters:
- Disruptive behavior during performances
- Outside food or beverage, including alcohol
- Illegal substances or weapons
- Backpacks/bags larger than 10” x 10” (all bags are subject to search)
- Professional cameras, detachable lenses, video cameras, or tripods
- Intoxicated or disorderly behavior, including fighting, threats, or harassment of performers, patrons, or staff
- Failure to follow instructions from ushers, venue managers, police, or medical staff
- Signs, banners, poles, selfie sticks, balloons, balls, or frisbees
- Laptops, tablets, or similar devices
- Noisemakers (klaxons, bullhorns, whistles) or laser pointers
- Smoking or vaping, indoors or in non-designated outdoor areas. Cannabis may not be smoked, vaped, or ingested in any public place.
Medication Policy
- Over-the-counter medication must be unopened and in original, factory-sealed packaging
- Vitamins and supplements are not permitted
- Prescription medication requires: a valid photo ID, the original, in-date, labeled bottle matching your ID, one medication per bottle and controlled substances limited to reasonable quantities for your time at the event
For electronic dance music (EDM) events:
EDM events have increased security, including physical searches. Additional prohibited items:
- Opened cigarettes, vape cartridges, gum, eye drops, or hygiene products (must have intact manufacturer seals)
- Stickers, markers, pens, fliers, or spray paint
- Large chains, spiked jewelry, or pacifiers
- Unlabeled medications
What should I know about venue security?
- No in-and-out privileges. Once you leave the venue, you can't re-enter
- Additional items may be prohibited depending on the event or artist. Check the tour or event’s website before you arrive
- Prohibited items must be returned to your vehicle. We do not hold items onsite
- Confiscated items are discarded, not returned
- We may increase security for any show, for any reason, to keep patrons safe

How do I inquire about renting a theater?

Can I rent a theater for a wedding or special event?
Yes. All four theaters are available to be rented out.
Can I stage a photo/film shoot inside a theater?
Yes. Contact the San Jose Film Office at 408-792-4175 or FilmOffice@sanjose.org, or submit a Film Office inquiry.
Jobs & Volunteering
Are there job openings?
Openings are listed in the Team San Jose Careers section.
Can I volunteer as an usher?
Because our ushers are union professionals, we are unable to accept volunteers. Contact the local IATSE office for union info.
Can I be the opening act at one of your concerts?
We don't book talent. Promoters handle concert lineups.
