42nd Street

Children's Musical Theater San Jose (CMT San Jose) presents 42nd Street, a dazzling backstage musical following Peggy Sawyer, a young dancer fresh off the bus from small-town Pennsylvania, as she chases her dream of Broadway stardom. When the leading lady of a new show is sidelined by injury just before opening night, Peggy is thrust into the spotlight with little time to prove she has what it takes to become a star. Featuring show-stopping tap numbers and a score packed with classic tunes, the production captures the glamour and excitement of putting on a Broadway show.

Now in its 59th season, CMT San Jose is one of the region's premier youth performing arts organizations, offering training and performance opportunities to thousands of young artists each year. CMT San Jose trains and educates today's youth through musical theater to set and achieve high artistic and personal goals, and to inspire them to become exemplary artists, patrons and citizens of tomorrow. The organization is dedicated to fostering creativity and a lifelong love of the performing arts in a supportive and inclusive environment.
