CHCP Double Happiness Celebration

Join the Chinese Historical and Cultural Project (CHCP) at their Double Happiness Celebration on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at San Jose's History Park. This FREE PUBLIC EVENT will mark 2 major milestones: The 35th Anniversary of the Chinese American Historical Museum (CAHM) and the 5th Anniversary of the City of San Jose’s official Resolution of Apology to the Chinese community. 

Key Ceremony Speakers will include Emcee Dion Lim, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan, CA Assemblyman Patrick Ahrens, County Board of Supervisors and City Council Members. Immerse in live cultural entertainment with Lion Dance, Dragon Dance, Taiko Drums, Chinese Yo-yo, Chinese Cultural Dances, Chinese music, and a Children’s Crafts Center.

See the new exciting exhibits at History Park, a documentary on San Jose’s Resolution of Apology, and the historic 1888 Golden Altar inside the Ng Shing Gung replica building.

Free light refreshments will be served, O’Brien’s Ice Cream Shop will be open, and a Chinese food truck will also be available for the heartier eaters. This is a FUN, FREE, FAMILY EVENT!
