Matilda The Musical

Children’s Musical Theater San Jose (CMT San Jose) presents Matilda the Musical, based on the beloved book by Roald Dahl, telling the story of an extraordinary girl who dreams of a better life. Armed with a sharp mind and a vivid imagination, Matilda dares to take a stand against her cruel parents and the tyrannical headmistress of her school, Miss Trunchbull, all while inspiring her classmates to rebel in unexpected ways. The production celebrates the power of courage and the belief that even the smallest person can change the world. This performance is part of CMT San Jose’s Rising Stars program.

Now in its 59th season, CMT San Jose is one of the region’s premier youth performing arts organizations, offering training and performance opportunities to thousands of young artists each year. CMT San Jose trains and educates today’s youth through musical theater to set and achieve high artistic and personal goals, and to inspire them to become exemplary artists, patrons and citizens of tomorrow. The organization is dedicated to fostering creativity and a lifelong love of the performing arts in a supportive and inclusive environment.
