The Prom

Children's Musical Theater San Jose (CMT San Jose) Mainstage presents The Prom, a heartfelt musical comedy following a group of self-absorbed Broadway stars in desperate need of a new cause who descend on a small Indiana town to help a high school student fight for her right to attend prom with the girl she loves. As the Broadway crew's larger-than-life antics collide with small-town politics, the story becomes an uplifting celebration of acceptance and the courage it takes to be yourself. Featuring an energetic, contemporary score, the production balances big laughs with a moving message about standing up for what's right.

Now in its 59th season, CMT San Jose is one of the region's premier youth performing arts organizations, offering training and performance opportunities to thousands of young artists each year. CMT San Jose trains and educates today's youth through musical theater to set and achieve high artistic and personal goals, and to inspire them to become exemplary artists, patrons and citizens of tomorrow.
